Vice-dean of Research IE Business School

Marco Trombetta is Vice-dean of Research at IE Business School. Besides his activity as a teacher and researcher, Professor Trombetta develops an activity as a consultant and in-company trainer. Moreover Marco is the Assitant Editor of the European Accounting Review, the official journal of the European Accounting Association and one of the most important academic accounting journals in the world.

Managing Partner Pérez-Llorca

Pedro has been a lawyer since 1993, working first in Uría Menéndez and subsequently in PEREZ-LLORCA, a law Firm founded by his father and of which Pedro Pérez-Llorca is currently the senior partner. In 2006, PEREZ-LLORCA won the Chambers and Partners award for “Iberian Law Firm of the Year”, recognising them as the best law Firm in the Iberian Peninsula.

STUDIES

1992	Law Degree, The National University of Distance Learning (UNED), Madrid.
1991	Business and Economics Degree, specialisation in audit and finance, Complutense University, Madrid.
2008	Pedro is currently reading for a Degree in Mathematics at the UNED.

LANGUAGES

His working languages are Spanish and English. He also reads and understands French, German and Italian.

PRACTICE AREAS

His professional experience as a lawyer focuses on the field of mergers and acquisitions. He has recently taken part in some very important cross-border transactions with a Spanish involvement. He has advised Abbey National on their acquisition by Banco Santander (2004), Autogrill (Benetton Group), on their acquisition of Aldeasa (2005-2008) and PAI Partners on their acquisition, together with other funds, of Cortefiel (2005). He has also advised E.ON on the Tender Offer Procedure for the Acquisition of Endesa (2006-2007) and in the acquisition of Viesgo and of Endesa shares in Spain, Italy, France, Poland and Turkey (2008).

In 2007, Pedro received the award “40 under 40: Best Lawyer at a Law Firm”, from Iberian Lawyer, which recognises him as the best lawyer, under 40 years old, in a Law Firm.

ACADEMIC AND PUBLISHING COLLABORATIONS

Pedro has lectured in various academic and professional institutions, amongst others the Instituto de Empresa, the Madrid Bar Association, and the Francisco de Vitoria University, on matters related to Corporate Law

Dean, IE Law School

Javier de Cendra is Dean of IE Law School. He is also honorary senior researcher and lecturer at the University College London (School of Law and Institute of Energy), visiting professor at the University of Malta and the University of Leuven (2010-2012), member of the Scientific Committee of the Fondazione Scienza and Fede - STOQ (Pontifical Council for Culture, Vatican City), member of the Malta forum Legal Issues in Adaptation to Climate Change, and a member of the international advisory board of CSID Colombia. Javier specializes in environmental and energy law, with a particular focus on climate change, areas that focuses its research and consulting. "

Of Counsel at Pérez-Llorca and corporate law profesor at Universidad de Huelva

Professor of Corporate Law, Francisco León joined PEREZ-LLORCA in 2004 as Of Counsel. Francisco León is an expert in corporate law, capital markets and insolvency law. Throughout his career, he has collaborated on the preparation of various expert opinions and legal works on commercial law. He is the author of numerous doctrinal studies, as well as diverse monographs.
